Invalid TikTok URL Fix

Three things to check when TokSavePro says your TikTok link isn't valid.

An "invalid TikTok URL" error doesn't mean the downloader is broken — it means the URL you pasted doesn't look like a TikTok link to our parser. The fix is almost always a fresh copy from the TikTok app. This page shows you what a valid URL should look like and how to sanity-check yours.

How it works

  1. Look at the start of the URL. Valid URLs start with https://www.tiktok.com, https://m.tiktok.com, https://vm.tiktok.com, or https://vt.tiktok.com.
  2. Check for cut-off characters. The URL should end with a video ID (~19 digits) or a short-link slug. If it ends mid-character, re-copy it.
  3. Re-share from inside TikTok. Open the video, tap Share → Copy link, then paste fresh. That always produces a clean URL.
  4. Submit again. Paste the cleaned URL above and tap Download. The error clears as soon as the URL passes the format check.

What you get

What 'Invalid TikTok URL' really means

TokSavePro validates every URL before sending it to the download API. The 'Invalid TikTok URL' message means the string you pasted does not look like a TikTok video link at all — it is missing the host, the path is wrong, or the video ID is malformed. The validator is intentionally strict because letting random URLs through wastes API calls and can trigger rate limits.

Most invalid-URL cases are typos, accidental copies, or links that point to a TikTok profile or hashtag rather than to a specific video. Once you understand which URL shapes are valid, you can fix the problem in seconds.

Valid TikTok URL formats

  • Full web URL: https://www.tiktok.com/@username/video/1234567890123456789
  • Short share URL from the app: https://vm.tiktok.com/abc123/
  • Mobile site URL: https://m.tiktok.com/v/1234567890.html
  • T-link short URL: https://www.tiktok.com/t/AbCdEfG/

Common invalid shapes and how to fix each

  • Profile URL (/@username) — open the profile, tap a specific video, then share-copy that.
  • Search URL (?q=…) — search results are not videos. Tap into a video, then share-copy.
  • Hashtag URL (/tag/…) — same fix; pick a single video first.
  • URL with no domain (just /@user/video/…) — paste the full https://www.tiktok.com prefix in front of it.
  • Quoted URL ('https://…') — strip the quotes; the validator does not normalise them.
  • Tracking-only URL with extra junk after the ID — most extra parameters are fine, but trailing whitespace or HTML entities will fail. Re-copy the clean version.

How to copy a clean URL every time

Open the video in the TikTok app, tap the share icon on the right, and pick Copy link. The app gives you a guaranteed-valid URL. Avoid manually typing or copying from the address bar of a desktop browser when the page has not finished loading — those copies sometimes include rendering artifacts.

If you receive a TikTok link in a chat app, tap and hold the link to copy it as plain text. Some chat apps (Telegram, iMessage) sometimes wrap links in tracking metadata; the cleanest approach is to open the link in a browser first, then re-copy it from the share menu.
